Volunteer Opportunities
The Lubbock Rape Crisis center is always looking for dedicated, caring Volunteer Advocates. If you are interested in being a part of this dynamic organization there are several ways to volunteer:


  • 24 hour Sexual Assault Hotline Advocate work designated phone shifts on the hotline;

  • 24 Hour Medical Accompaniment; Advocates meet sexual assault survivors at the hospital to comfort and assist them throughout the forensic examination.

  • Law Enforcement Accompaniment

  • Advocates provide Judicial Accompaniment

  • Advocates assist with Survivor Follow-Up and Referral

  • Speaker’s Bureau Volunteer Advocates attend health fairs, community gatherings, and any type of community events where LRCC could provide information. Also; speaking to community groups about the services LRCC provides and about sexual violence.
REQUIREMENTS: Volunteer Advocates must be 18 years of age or older, pass a criminal background check, complete an application, interview with the Volunteer Coordinator. Once approved Volunteer Advocates must attend a 40 hour OAG certified training that focuses on working with sexual assault survivors and their families. In addition Volunteer Advocates must be willing to complete 6 hours of continuing education per year
